Microsoft Corp. recently announced its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2021 with revenue of $ 41.7 billion (up 19% compared to the same period last year), operating income of $ 17.0 billion (up 31%) and earnings per share of $ 2.03 (up 45%). Net income rose 45% compared to the same quarter last year, reaching $ 15.5 billion. These results out-perform the analyst expectations.
“The Microsoft Cloud, with its end-to-end solutions, continues to provide compelling value to our customers generating $17.7 billion in commercial cloud revenue, up 33% year over year", said Amy Hood, Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Microsoft.
With this continuous growth, Microsoft’s cloud business remains larger than the combined cloud businesses of Google and Amazon.
